Lip Product Haul

So I have a ton of lip products from glosses to lipsticks but I don't think I've ever been as excited about them as I am at this moment. I've recently picked up several items at my local Target and Rite aid that I have been dying to try.

First up are Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stains.
On the left is shade 015 Cherish which is a lovely sort of purple/pink. On the right 040 Rendezvous which is a great red toned coral. They smell of peppermint and go on quite sheer but still leave a good wash of color on the lips. That said I'm not sure they last as long as stain, though I've only given them a brief trial run. The color began to wear off maybe an hour or two in, and though there were remnants of color on my lips it wasn't as strong as I would have liked. Regardless of the wear, I did love how they felt and will no doubt wear them quite a bit this summer, and maybe try something more long wearing for work. The packaging is incredibly cute and I love that they twist up.

Then as I turned the aisle, I ran into these little beauties; L'oreal Colour Riche Caresse. I heard a ton about this particular product when they were launched in the UK some months ago under the name Rouge Caresse and have been dying to find a US release date. Imagine my surprise when I literally stumbled upon them by accident. I chose two shades I usually would not go for, 175 Violet Chiffon, and 173 Velvety Fuchsia.
I find these to be VERY moisturizing and I love the way they feel when they're on my lips. The staying power is pretty standard but I wasn't expecting much (the balm stains I thought would last much longer....being a stain and all that) but the comfort of wear makes up for it. I adore wearing fuchsia and would consider doing so everyday but violet chiffon may take some getting used to. They are rather sheer upon first application but with a few more swipes can get quite pigmented, so that lends itself to versatility.

Last but not least... totally random buy. Maybelline has recently released a line of purple toned lipsticks that for some reason caught my attention. (I must have a thing for purple lately) My sister encouraged me to give shade 855 Flawless Fuchsia a try. As you can see from the photograph, it is far from fuchsia, and more like a lilac in color. I was surprised how nice it looked on my lips, but I'm still a little uncomfortable wearing it out and about, because it is such a different color and one I have not seen around very often. My main problem however is how drying the formula is, I have noticed this of late with many Maybelline lipsticks and tend to shy away from them because I hate the patchy/dry way in which they seem to wear off. I hope in the future they will reformulate their lipstick line because the color choices are simply gorgeous.

Has anyone else tried the Just Bitten gloss stains or the L'oreal Caresse lipcolors? Let me know what you think about them! How long do they last for you? Do you feel they live up to the hype.

See you next time!

(( My camera quality is really fading, it might be a good time to bite the bullet and invest in a new one. Any suggestions? ))

Here's the thing...outlet shopping is my weakness. And not a "makes me wanna che. at on my diet" kind of weakness, this is a full on Kryptonite type scenario. I am powerless in its clutches. That said I am quite proud of myself for reigning in my shopping bug and only purchasing five things yesterday.

These remind me of Jackie O style peddle pushers. They are from the stretch sateen collection by Tommy Hilfiger. ((don't mind the glare of the flash. For some reason I'm having trouble fixing this camera, its so old. ))

This is just the sweetest skirt ever! It feels very 1950s, sitting right at the natural waist and flaring out from there. This was from the Jcrew outlet.

Also scored these retro looking sunglasses from H&M. They were super cheap which is good for me as I always end up breaking or scratching my sunglasses within a month.

Almost forgot about this little gem! I was in a festive mood as it was memorial day and picked this charm necklace up at Forever 21.

That was it for my Memorial Day shopping trip. All in all I don't think I did too badly the bottoms I bought were all half off and the accessories were a steal. Still, I usually don't buy that much clothing in one go, I'm much more of a buy for others or buy one piece at a time kind of girl. I'm excited to put together some outfits with these items but I just need to find some tops.
Let me know if you have any ideas for those red pants, I'm leaning towards a short sleeved woven of some sort.
How was the holiday weekend for you guys? I hope you had fun in the sun, and took a moment to think about the men and women who serve in our armed forces. Happy Memorial Day!
